February 2011 - Carbon Mixer® 2 launched at Ecobuild!
Carbon Mixer has for three years been a popular easy to use tool for rapidly generating energy strategies for new and
existing buildings. Used by anyone involved with building design and refurbishment including ZedFactory,
Harvard University and the BRE, it enables users to ditch those complex spreadsheets and complete a weeks worth of
analysis in minutes. The new Carbon Mixer 2 is a fully upgraded version of the software to be released at EcoBuild 2011.
Many new features and an updated user interface make tasks such as: developing strategies to meet code for sustainable

October 2010 - Carbon Mixer NE is the software solution within the
National Renewables Energy Centre (Narec) free micro-renewables toolkit.
Comprising of Carbon Mixer software and a guidance document, the toolkit will assist North East local government,
architects and planners with issues of sustainable buildings. It was launched in Durham on Wednesday the 29th September.
October 2010 - BG&A are now working with key suppliers such as
Solaglas
and
PhotonStar LED
to provide more accurate data
within the Carbon Mixer database. This new level of detail will allow users to compare,
source and specify the real product solutions that meet both performance and payback criteria quickly and easily.
The new version will include links to and images of the products as well as a specifier's product report.

February 2010 - Carbon Mixer® for school children is being developed for the North East local authorities.
This will be release in the spring term.
January 2010 - BG&A expand to take on more forms of BREEAM assessment for commercial and residential buildings,
specialising in Code For Sustainable Homes work.
October 2009 - Harvard University take Carbon Mixer licences and use the software with bespoke weather data.
August 2009 - More universities now use Carbon Mixer with Heriot Watt and Oxford Brookes recently taking subscriptions.

October 2008 - Carbon Mixer® 1.1 released with enlarged data-base, improved functionality and the latest Windows/MS Office interfacing and reporting capability.

Four page article in Construct Ireland
describing Carbon Mixer and the process of considering energy in building design from many perspectives (planning, carbon emissions, initial costing, annual costing, years to pay back).
June 2008 - Carbon Mixer is adopted as a training tool on Renewable Energy MSc Courses at the Graduate School for the Environment in Machynlleth, Wales.

May 2008 - BG&A present to a large and lively audience at the ITFMA (
Irish Timber Framed Manufacturers Association) in Dublin. Discussions include the need for a more visual front end for the new Dwelling Energy Assessment Procedure (DEAP), used for all planning applications for new homes to calculate Building Energy Ratings (BER), and interfacing this with Carbon Mixer type scenario analysis.
February 2008 - BG&A present Low Carbon Building Physics to capacity audiences at Eco-Build, Earls Court. This is part of the Zero Carbon House theme which includes a zero carbon house built in the exhibition hall by www.zedfactory.com.
